i wanna get my self sat nav just makes driving even more lazy and i can never get lost again sounds all good! but what one? i have 300 to spend on one.

was thinking the tom tom 510 is it? do u have to pay monthly to use it? good bad?

or is there other ones that are a lot better for a bit more money?

thanks lads!

I've been looking myself, and figure a PDA with the TOMTOM software on is a better idea, as you can use the PDA for other things. (I guess this is only any good if you have a use for one).

I would suggest looking at the Dell Axims for value for money, or an IPAQ if you have a few more quid to spend.

The new IPAQ's can work as a mobile too.

Hope this helps.

i really would not use a pda. got a pc. just want it for the car.

so shall i got for a tom tom 510? or pay for a better one? do you have to pay yearly for updates?

Its down to you, if you have a use for PDAs go for it.. but I have the TomTom One and its a great solid unit.

been looking at the tom tom one looks ok. do you have 2 pay money for the updates???

Depends on what you want... most of the TomTom updates are tripe tbh..

If you want speed camera databases and the POI locations, you're better off using pocketGPSworld... Speed Camera database for £2 one off...

And it works the same as the normal tomtom ones!
