Morning.

Would just like to know, if it possible to resize a SATA and an ISE cable to a different lengh, or do you have to buy them at that lengh?

Thank you. :)

It's possible, but extremely fiddly and would require lots of delicate soldering. It's probably pretty risky too - a short could ruin your drive. You'd be best off just buying them at the right length. :)

That's the thing, I can't get them at the right lengh. I have lots of cables to test on. How about IDE cables?

How long do you need them?

EDIT: just read somewhere else that you can pop the connector off, and it'll work fine if you press it back on somewhere else with even force, such as in a vice!

SATA are indeed moulded, the shortest I've got at present is about 12" I think but I'm sure I've seen ones included with SFF PCs smaller than that so maybe get in contact with Shuttle, AOpen or someone like that?

IDE cables should be possible like gumbald says, that was what I was getting at but be careful when taking off the connector, I've snapped a couple like that by accident. :)
