Hi, I'm new to all this, but here goes. I've just purchased a Pentium D 3.2 940 Pressler, and was wondering if I can mix a new SATA drive as master with my other 3 IDE drives as slaves?
If so, what would be the recommended mobo?
Any replies most appreciated.

Cheers,

All motherboards will do this as far as I know. Sata drives do not work on a slave/master basis & you can just plug one in and select it as the boot drive. The other IDE drives will be fine although one will need to be a master though.

Is it to be SLI or anything you want in particular?

You can hook up 3 IDE drives, but that will only leave one IDE channel for a CD or DVD unless you go sata optical, but not sure if all of them are bootable.

I would look in here.
