Sata cable

Hope this is in the right section,if not please move it for me?

Is there any difference in sata1 and sata2 cables?
If so can a sata2 cable be used with a sata2 drive on a sata1 motherboard without problems?

A sata cable is a sata cable as far as I know, no difference between any of them

That is what i thought until i saw the sats2 cables and wonder what the difference is?

no physical difference AFAIK

I have SATA2 drives running on SATA cables OK

It might be that they reckon there is more of a market by specifically labelling SATA II cables separately. As far as I am aware there is no real difference, the only other thing I can think of is that they are guaranteed to work at SATA II speeds but a 'normal' SATA cable isn't(but is likely to anyway)?

Thanks for your input guys.I will just get the sata2 cable to use in my sata1 board anyway and see how it goes.
