SATA Controller stuck on RAID?

Trying to repair a PC that's just come into the store I'm working at. Trying to format and reinstall windows. Can't though - no drives show up.

In the bios, I can enable or disable the SATA controller, which in turn shows or hides the "SATA Mode" option

"Sata Mode" is greyed over when I enable the controller, so the curser skips over it, and it's stuck on RAID, when I only have 1 HDD. This obviously means I can't set up a RAID array for windows to recognise.

Tried a Drive Fitness Test / Seatools diagnostic on the harddrive, tried resetting the BIOS to factory settings. No joy.

Sorry can't identify the mobo either. It's foxconn, but the serial number doesn't get me anywhere on their website and the details aren't available on Acer's either. Can't boot the existing OS so can't use a utility to identify the mobo either.

So.... any ideas?

Thanks for your help guys and girls!

Josh

Try and look at the southbridge to help you work out which chipset it is, you will need to use the sata drivers. Some of the first sata controllers only had a raid mode so you installed them as a single drive raid 0.
