sata conversion

My lad's mate has just purchased a bundle from here and it turned up yesterday, however, first thing I noticed was micro ATX board, not the end of the world as I read they are backward compatible, correct or not ? Next thing I saw, no IDE on board, which both his HDD and optical both are. Now I remember seeing somewhere, and I have looked on here, isn't there a card like device you can purchase which acts basically like a sata to IDE converter....and if so, are they any good ? Then again, the price of 250gb HDD now, he may as well buy new one.

I had already checked out the optical, as I have slightly the same issue with my z68 board, HDD is a sata, just need to change my optical drive to suit. I did tell my lad to let me buy them for him, as such, as his mate didn't even have an account when he bought his bundle, so it cost him an extra tenner or so.
