Sata hard drives not showing up

Hi people
I just did a clean install of windows 10 to a new ssd and before I did this I disconnected my other sata drives.
Now windows is up and running Ive tried connecting back my 2 sata drives but they are not showing in device manager or disk management?
They show fine in the bios?
I even tried putting them in an external usb caddy but they are showing now as 'invalid'
Any advice appreciated.

I havent installed anything from gigabytes website as my device manager wasnt showing any missing software and it seems to be running smooth as...?

Have you tried multiple sata slots while the system is on, does windows make the 'hardware connected' noise?

Do you mean like hotswapping internally? Is that safe?

I have this problem with my Sniper M3 now and them and i have to go into the bios and load optimal defaults and save and they normally show up

You'll probably need to enable Hotswap on the SATA ports in the BIOS for this - been a while since I had a Gigabyte but all the ASUS boards I've had "hotswap" has been disabled by default.
