SATA II drives on SATA I Interface

Hi I am looking at the Samsung SpinPoint T 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD501LJ) hard drive.

However I have a Shuttle Small Form Factor FN95 PC which has a nVidia nForce3 250 chipset and according to the manual the SATA interface is 1.5Gb/s.

Will I have any problems using a SATA II drive on a SATA I inteface?

Looking on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA it seems that there are issues with the following chipsets VIA and SIS chipsets VT8237, VT8237R, VT6420, VT6421L, SIS760, SIS964

some chipsets do have issues. how ever its more depends on the hdd in my opinion. some of them have a jumper on the back that you can set the drive to sata 1 or sata 2 if the hdd then no problems at all.

that particular drive can be changed from sata 2 to sata 1 via software available from samsung site. according the pdf manual on page 2 http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200704/20070419195013062_3.5_Install_Gudie_Eng_200704.pdf
