I have this mobo - MSI P55-GD65 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard with Free USB 3.0 PCI Controller Card

Can I fit a sata-II HD in?! :confused:

Yes, it has got 6 SATA II ports.

What do you mean? a sata 2 port hard drive will fit in a sata 2 port. If your meaning plug your sata 2 hard drive into the usb3 port you will need a hard drive enclosure that will take sata 2 drives and plugs into a usb 3 port. For example

I just copied the mobo details from my order history, I wasn't specifically asking about USB connection.

I wasn't sure if I could run SATA, SATA2 or SATA3 hard drives. I've had me head in the sand since 2009 regarding latest hardware.

You can run all three as they are all backwards compatible, however the speed will be the same no matter which port you use.
