Got 2 samsung f3 HDD with my new build using the sabertooth x58 I installed them to normal sata connection on motherboard and created a raid 0 with them. Since then noticed 2 faster sata connections on the motherboard should I have connected them to that and if so would it have been a faster raid config using them drives or are they more for SSD drives? If I did need to connect to the faster sata connection can you still raid them and how?

The two sata connectors youve noticed are for newer 6gbps sata drives, as your running 3gbps F3's youll be fine the way you have it setup.

You connected them to the Intel ICH10R southbridge - for running a RAID array this is much better than using the 6Gb/s Marvell® 9128 controller.

This test compares the RAID performance of the ICH10R and the Marvell 9128 with a fast mechanical HDD.
