We've just had some things stolen from inside one of our PCs - namely the HDD, Sata data cable and Sata power cable.

I took a photo of the power cable last year, when the same thing happened! and the power cable goes from a 4-pin square socket on the motherboard to SATA on the CD-Rom drive and to the HDD. It looks like the following:

Any idea what it's called so I can get another one?

Someone stole them from inside the pc but left the pc and this has happened before? Sounds like you need to look into your security more than anything.

I have never seen a cable like that before but a normal sata power lead from the psu will do the job.

I'm guessing its a manufactured PC by someone like Dell or HP?

Looks like a HP, as we have several of them at work, but both HP and Dell have switched to this style of design in their latest PCs.

Assume it is something to do with Power supply efficiency, as the PSU to motherboard connector has only 6 Pins and only supplies 12V (rather than the usual ATX connector with 12v/5v and 3.3v)

Wow good detective work! It is indeed an 8200. I've just been sent the details :

Desktop PC: HP Compaq 8200 Elite Convertible Minitower
SN: CZC2053YYC
PN: LX869ET#ABU

Motherboard: SN: PCBWR0KCY1RDK7

Both times this has happened has been in Mexico customs! We shipped our control container there, they opened it for inspection, and removed the HDD - no idea why?!!

Edit: Just found it online! https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.0.0.z45UNn&id=40455419426&_u=3qqbb9feedd
