SATA power cables not going in?

I can't fit the damn Sata power cables into the hdd or the optical drive. I have checked they are going in the right angles, but they seem to only go in a few mm with a large amount of force, and only a tiny force is used to take them out. It's the last cables to put in on my PC, and I can't get them in! Please help!

When you say at the right angles, are you making sure the notch is lined up?

The little 'L's? If you mean them yeah

Yep those are the ones, so the L is going into its hole.

You may just have to put a bit of welly into it

I'm making sure they're alligned, and I'm pushing really hard. It just wont go in. How far is it supposed to go in?

Are they the sata cables with or without the locking notches?

Any chance of a picture of when it's in or is it at an awkward angle?

Is there anything lodged inside the cable socket?

There's nothing inside the socket, I see no lock hinge things and I hear no clicks. I may have the optical disc drive one in, but definitely not the hdd one. How do I add pics? Add image button asks for a url

You host the photo on a service like Flickr or similar and the put in the URL for the photo on the host site.

Well, I basically did what happened in that video with double the force. I took the hard drive and optical disc driver out so I could get a grip on the components and managed to get the sata power cables in with A LOT of force. Luckily, nothing broke and I'm currently browsing on my first build. Thanks for the help!
