sata power cables

was looking into shortening the distance between the sata power connectors for the ssds/hdds and braiding at the same time, my question is can you run 5 sata power connectors on the 1 line as opposed to the standard 4 you normally get?

Yeah that's fine, drives don't draw all that much power

It'd be fine to run 5. Personally I'd buy a couple of SATA power cable extensions to butcher rather than doing anything to your PSUs own cables, better for resale if/when you upgrade
