SATA Power Connector

My modular PSU seems to have two SATA power options:

Firstly there is a 6 pin connector on the PSU with five cables going into each SATA end.

Secondly there is a 4 pin connector on the PSU with four cables going into each SATA end.

What is the difference? And which should I be using to power my 3.5" HDD / DVD-RW drive?
