i havent looked at hardware developments for a few years because my current rig was doing fine. now that im going to build a new rig im back on the scene and came across SATA6 and Solid State Drives. these have probably been out years but i just havent noticed them lol:)

the only thing i no about SATA6 is that its a motherboard feature, and ive never used a SSD before. Im going to include these in my new rig.

from wot ive got around the forums, you basically install your OS onto the SSD and it flys, and you install/save files onto a seperate HDD.

is it hard to hookup a SSD to SATA6 and install?

:):)

exactly the same as a harddrive, just make sure the sata controller is set to AHCI and not IDE.

oh, and you need win7, which supports TRIM, which you need to stop performance falling through the floor.

and its in the bios you just change the sata controller setting.

you will get a better clearer answer from the chaps in the Harddrive forum.
