Bit of a random one.

I need to take an internet connection to a wind turbine.
It's around 600 mtrs from a bt(fibre) connection point.
Speed of the connection isn't an issue, but reliability is.
From a basic look at things I've ruled out some kind of line of site or GSM connection.

I could do a cable run, but how reliable is a satellite connection?
I'll obviously look for industry advice, but would kindly like some pointers on any thoughts you clever fellows could give?

EDIT: Why the hell does a wind turbine need an internet connection :D:D[/QUOTE]

It's monitored as part of a service contract. A blade goes out of balance or component starts to go, they know before it causes a major problem and can repair it quickly to reduce down time.

They guarantee the turbine availability time.
Down time of an internet connection is not included in this I believe.
