save corrupt images

got a relative that has just come back from holiday and has lost over 100 images due to them being corrupted and they have no clue why. the images are still on the pc and they are wanting me to research and try to save them.

im very new to this so leave any ideas to you, any suggestions?

Do they open at all? And are they viewable from the camera?

afaik no to both the questions, the camera doesn't even show the corrupt files at all where as on the pc it shows the files but says they are corrupt. I'm taking a guess that the files are jpeg but just a random guess.

Problem with the memory in the camera?
My mate had this problem with his camera, the memory was dodgy and the pics didnt save properly, he got a new memory card for it and it worked fine after that.
