Hi All

I am hoping someone can come to my rescue.

My Niece has forgotton the passcode to her IPod Touch, i have seen all the videos about how to do a restore to facotry settings but i wanted to know if there is any way i can get the photos off the ipod before wiping it.

Not too worried about anything else, just want to try and save the photos.

It wont show up in my computer as a drive until i have unlocked it.

Please Help!!!

I think you've identified the purpose of the lock, at least.

As said... if it's set to sync photos with a given machine, that may work.

I was rather surprised the other day that by plugging my iPhone into my work computer I was able to browse the photos in explorer. Especially as my phone has only ever been synced with my mac.

Actually, that's a good point. Every time I plug my iPhone in at work it tries to open up Word to show me all my photos. Try that.

kol and vonhelmet it will ask for the password IIRC. the phone/ipod needs to be unlocked for the above to happen (automatic photo viewing/opening)

My phone is sitting in front of me locked and I can view the images in explorer if that's any help to you. Just plug it into whatever PC it was last synced with and that should work

iTunes will prompt you to unlock your phone/pod/pad when you first try to sync on a new machine which is when I believe it just caches the passcode so it doesn't prompt you again (unless you change the passcode).

I can certainly view the files of my iphone on my work computer but I'm not sure if I've ever been prompted to unlock the phone before in the past. I suspect I may have
