Save Power with Google

Is that a rating for CRTs or TFTs?

I presume they don't both save that much power, as they use completely different methods to display images.

:Edit: Just read up a bit, it implies that the stated saving is for CRTs, it doesn't mention TFTs at all...

Also seems the site hasn't been developed by Google but a "Heap Media", it most likely uses the Google affiliate service and is probably raking in the cash from all the numpties who may use it :p . Personally I won't bother

I agree. What a con!

Also, I am pretty sure an LCD panel displaying black uses more electricity than one displaying white. Due to the way they work, the LCs remain transparent until a voltage is applied to them which makes them turn opaque, blocking the light from behind and appearing black.
