i agree, its the detail now appeared in the background ,, i can spend loads of time on them but unless you have bigger file sizes to work from i doubt he will print the size shown,, the tinge and noise can be edited but like i say higher grade orignals would be worthy of spending the time,

in middle pic you dont even see a picture on the wall, tis a start to show shadow detail can be pushed/pulled out

If you want to mail me the full size images I am happy to apply some post-processing for you, am relatively competent in Photoshop. [email protected] will have them back to you in a day or so. (my photos can be found at www.flickr.com/photos/martinturner in case you want a look)

To be honest, the lighting is really bad inside this venue (as is most wedding venues) and you are always going to struggle to get really great images on the fly without some post processing.

What's wrong with the originals? (They're not great, but for snaps they look OK?)

Chris.

I agree, they are not that bad to be honest.

1. Just an awful pose to be honest; what was that bride thinking!! Im not even going to comment on the others (eek!)
2. Actually a really nice portrait - would remove the shiney face going on, but only minimal work to improve. Possible B&W?
3. Would crop, then lighten middle slightly and apply a vignette to lose the remainder of the dude in the bottom right ... mate I would have thrown something at him to get him out of the way.

lol thanks for the advice... all the photos were like the girls excited and as people (bride included) walked past..`oi come here... photo`.... I had a few seconds... so best of what I had.

I got a Canon 350d off one of the members on here. Hopefully I can get some snaps with it tomorrow and see if there any better.

Thanks for the advice guys and the edits.

I messed around a little and this is what I came up with the other day.

Hi chap, you don't hang about!.

Quick tips:

Shoot in Raw so that you can adjust the white balance properly later (seems to be a lot of saturation in those pics and a weird white balance). And download a free program called 'Rawshooter essentials' to do the raw conversion/editing in. This will also allow you to edit the exposure etc a little after shooting.

Have a read up on flash exposure compensation and adjusting the power of the flash (and turn it down a bit).

For a quick fix though, if you're in a dark place, put the camera in AV mode, bump the ISO up to 800 (maybe 1600 if you really have to), dial in the largest aperture possible (F3.5 I think on the kit lens), and try and shoot zoomed out (as when you zoom in it decreases the aperture). You can press the little flash button on the side of the camera (and you might as well turn the ISO down to 400 then) and the flash will automatically create a fill light, on top of that you can adjust the flash exposure/flash power.

Bit of a mouthful! :p , good luck with the camera! :). :p
