Saving a mac Excel file 'without a password' on a pc?

I've got an Excel spreadsheet which I suspect was created on a Mac running excel. I'm editing it on my pc using Excel 2007 and I can't seem to save it 'without' a password being embedded in it??

The odd thing is that I can open the file perfectly on my pc. It doesn't ask me for a password. However when I email the file to my iphone it flags up as password protected and prompts me for one!?

How can I remove this bloody password? I've tried clicking on Save as/Tools/General Options and leaving the password to open and modify boxes clear (they already are!?) but the resulting file still prompts me to enter a password when viewed on a ios device. It's important this is solved as the file will need to be viewed on ios.

Any ideas anyone? It goes without saying that I don't have access to a mac with excel. :(

Thanks for the reply guys. Yep tried both of those suggestions. Save As just carried over the same password settings. The copy n paste worked but did change the layout somewhat. I need to adhere to the originals and not change it at all.

What I have found that works is if I save the file as a Excel 97-2003 workbook. For some reason that doesn't save this hidden password setting, though the layout appears identical. Maybe I'll have to settle for that?
