How?

As above i wish to save some specific bookmakrs to an external portable drive to be used at a later date on any pc. Is there a simple way to do this or would a bookmark manger be the simplest option, if so which one?

thanks

Just sync your bookmarks. Most browsers support cloud sync (in fact I can't think of one that doesn't).

Nope i only want to backup a few specific bookmarks not hundreds, its work related and not always got internet access, hence the portable drive idea

You should be able to export bookmarks to a file, then just move that across.

Two ways:

1. Just tested this in Firefox, just drag the URL onto the desktop from the browser, it automatically creates a shortcut to that URL. Then just copy the shortcut over to an external drive.

2. Just email yourself the links!

Easy Peasy. Questions like this sounds like homework though. lol

Open word or some other word processing tool e.g. libreoffice.

Type in all your addresses and sort them as you wish.

save as an html file, copy file onto external drive. When you open it - it'll open in a browser with a list of all the addresses you saved into it.

How will having bookmarks saved help if you haven’t got internet access?

Do you actually want to save off line versions of the sites so they can be viewed at any time?

.... how would you access the URL if you have no internet. :p :D This forums getting more strange. Unless you want to view the site offline but this would be a different way. You could save site for viewing offline.
