Saving CPU overclock

Quick query and probably a stupid question but I've had a quick look around on the web and there seems to be a conflict of information, I've overclocked my CPU in the BIOS and I'm planning on re-installing windows and I'm just wondering whether it'll be fine to re-install with the CPU overclocked or whether I should revert it back to default? Some people say its fine to keep it overclocked and others are saying its better to default it back, so I'm a little unsure.

Thanks both for the replies, I went ahead and took the risk of re-installing with the overclock in place and everything has gone as smoothly as possible

I feel privileged that the almighty 8 Pack has commented on my post

I ran the overclock prior for about two years (give or take) stable, just glad everything went smoothly
