Saving images in Firefox 47?

The usual right click image > save image > choose folder > ok.

Except that you don't see an image in the target folder. It doesn't show in the download history either.

Did a 'refresh Firefox' which takes Firefox back to factory (still v47). Drastic, but to no avail.

So I reach for my backup copies of Firefox (as I use the portable version), extracted a copy that was 6 weeks old that I knew was working ok. Version 46. I can now save images again. Then it quickly did the update back to v47, and boom, images broken again!

So I re-extract the good v46 copy again and disabled updates so that it stays on v46 for now.

Can anyone else confirm this / having similar issues?

You may have an addon that is conflicting. I have no issues saving images in v47 here on Windows 10. But as you did a reset, have you tried saving to another folder/drive to test it's not a localised permissions issue?

The add-ons I had on my old FF47 were the same as in the FF46 backup.

Tried other folders and drives as well, but the common denominator was FF47.

For now, I have disabled updates and left it on FF46 and it's working fine atm.

Add-ons:

Blank Your Monitor (blind / partially sighted mode)
FireFTP
Ghostery
Greasemonkey
HideScrollbars
Middle click to go back
Mozilla Archive Format
Speed Dial
TinEye
uBlock Origin

Tried with a clean Firefox 47 profile? If it works then with a clean profile, keep reinstalling your add-ons and testing until you find the culprit.
