Hi,

We've got our network printer set up on an Ubuntu machine. That's all working fine.

We're needing to make it so that it keeps the logs of the prints in that printer program that's built into ubuntu so we can just right click the item and press print on it to re-print it.

Any ideas how I can do this please?

Craig.

In Dapper Drake (Flight 6 of Ubuntu 6.06), the above link takes you straight into the CUPS system without needing a password. Although IIRC, CUPS does have it's own user in the system (which cupsd is run under). And the web interface does have an option to reprint previous files (Manage Jobs > Show Completed Jobs > Reprint Job). Not sure how to get around the username / password bit though

Edit: Have a look here: http://www.cups.org/articles.php?L274

I have tried the root pass, doesn't work :(

Hmm, at the top of the page it says:

Administrative tasks have been disabled for security reasons. Please use Menu System > Administration > Printing.

Maybe I need to enable administrative tasks? If so, how do I?

Thanks
Craig.
