Saving the planet, one year on

[ could add onto the monthly £320 cost, the fuel cost for M235 ]
Fuel costs don't come into it for the M235i, besides I've already calculated the differences into my running costs. The cost though of having a home charger for a EV would need to be factored in. I think they're around £900?

Still no suggestions yet?

further taking django's thread off course I was going to say a 2nd hand polestar - why don't you want very nearly new car ?
eg £430/month you get free petrol ? smaller deposit would cover charger
The only Enyaq Coupe the Skoda dealership could offer was a preowned 2023 80 sportline and I even had to put £6.4k of my own money into that, plus my car. There doesn't seem to be many 85 sportline's about and the ones that are available are pricey.
So nothing at all against preowned EV's really, just prefer new for warrenty etc...

Good suggestion though, I've looked at the Polestar 2, it fits my spec but when I played a review of it to my partner she took one look at it and said never. £430 though is well over my monthly maximum.

Coupe just means 25mm chopped out the SUV roof, much like a sport back Audi.

Coupe?! Give over. Dude it’s got 5 doors!

Go on how high is it?
I always thought a coupe was essentially a slightly more squashed saloon usually with 2 doors. (see the yellow and red fiat coupes in my sig, or say the pug 406 coupe or the Alfa GTV.that said I guess definitions can change

their was nothing sporty about my 1.5 diesel nissan QQ "SUV"

nothing to add - I think I have to defer to jonny's expertise on coupes, conflicted though, as he drives an i-pace.
colleague had a company 800 fastback, I'd driven to Wales .. I am wondering if the polestar 3, is a van though

I was talking in the context of what Skoda had called their “coupe” nothing else.

Problem could be Petrol and diesel is an option they want to take away.
just like when. POP pesticides (which were effective) were banned people moaned because the new stuff was not as good

however a few decades later no one cares and if someone is seen using old stuff they are frowned upon

or back in the day my parents used to think of they could walk in a roughly straight line they were sober enough to drive.
but now adays some people give stink eye if they see someone have 1 pint and drive

I suspect a decade or so from now people will treat those breaking the speed limit with the same distain and 20 years from now those who still insist on driving around in what will be perceived as dirty old bangers will be treated like those wearing mink coats or owning ivory statues.

Yeah I can get behind that, fastback's have been around a long time, it's a car with a sloped rear - not sure how sloped the Polestar is mind. :D

No more than any of the old hatchback Vectra’s I owned - they’re just trying to make it sound fancy for no particular reason…

Coupe just comes from the French for ‘cut-off’, and the Mercedes GLC and GLE SUV’s were given a sloping roof line to make the coupe versions, of which the GLC a coupe has been their best selling vehicle.

I don't really give a damn what a true definition of a coupe is or equally care much for what a 'true' BMW 'M' car should be for that matter, but at least it doesn't look anything like the ugly and repulsive SUV's that are being pushed out that all look the same.
The Enyaq Coupe, or call it what you will, is a compromise, yes, but at least it is better looking in my eyes.

However, pedantics aside, any other suggestions?
