Saving Windows Desktop icon positions

Is their a way to save all the files/ positions of you Desktop in case they get moved about, have a duel monitor set up in work and sometimes all the files defult to eh homes screen which...is..annoying.

I find that the icons will re-order themselves to adjust to a new resolution request. So if you switch display configurations (or even remote desktop in with a different resolution request) the ordering / location may change.

I am not sure how you can get a fixed position / display designation.

Which version of Windows are you running?
