My girlfriends '97 Saxo seems to be having having a problem steering. It seems to be intermittent power steering failure, wherein the steering wheel becomes incredibly stiff and she can no longer do a 3-point turn, instead it's about an 8-point turn and takes forever with short movements. Particularly when the car has be cold for a few hours, in a car park at uni or in the mornings. It doesn't seem to be very regular but more so with small movements, going round a car park, turning out of a bay. Though the other day she said he had a bit of a problem going round a corner. So sounds like there is a problem with the power steering.
The car hasn't been lowered which can cause problems with the pipe wearing away against the rack, but given it's age it if it's something more than just a leak from the pipe, how big a problem and costly could it be?
