** SAY HELLO TO AORUS X7 V3 PRO: THE WORLDS FASTEST GAMING LAPTOP!! **

To anyone else thinking considering this laptop, I am coming to the conclusion that Gigabyte got it spot on in terms of styling and portability. I was lucky enough to be in Singapore at the same time as their Computer Expo and spent a few hours looking at all the competitors. If you want a laptop that you can travel with easily (ie thin and light), has great styling (I had an Alienware M17X R2 and its looks like something from last century compared to this) and outstanding performance then this is definitely the best on the market. I was particularly impressed with the combination of M2 SATA RAID, the CPU and SLI configuration. It is loud when pushed to the limit but this really is unavoidable in something so sleek. Maybe its time to invest in a good set of headphones?

OK Chuffbaby,

Thanks for the feedback, and fingers crossed the new PSU gets everything back up to speed for you.

Thanks again,

Regards,

Gigabyte UK NB Team

I am very pleased to say that the new PSU provided by the Gigabyte team has arrived and has sorted out all of the problems. Games are now running in their full ultra-HD glory again, no more stuttering, so it seems pretty conclusive that there was a problem with the PSU and not the laptop. Failure to supply sufficient power was forcing the laptop into a power-saving "stealth mode" which was very evident when running demanding applications.

The replacement PSU is exactly the same model as originally supplied and the laptop is now working every bit as well as when I received it at the start of December.

I would like to say a really big thank-you to Atom80 for getting personally involved and to Polly at Gigabyte/G-style for sorting this issue out efficiently and without causing any real inconvenience to me. After five months of ownership I am still absolutely delighted with my purchase.

It is a real pleasure to find out that this excellent laptop is supported by some really outstanding customer service. Great job :)

Aorus X7 Pro Owner's Lounge?

Hi Guys,

It seems pretty quiet on the forum and I was wondering if there would be interest in having a thread as a dedicated owner's lounge. I am sure those of us who own this laptop would like to share views and tips.

I have a couple of quick questions for starters:

1. Does anyone know of a good way to link the fan settings to a keyboard shortcut? I have tried to set up macros but the only way I can think of is to record the sequence of mouse clicks to open the command centre, change the fan setting then close the command centre again. It would be good to use one of the macro colour modes for this purpose.

2. I would be interested to hear of recommendations for a set of headphones to use whilst gaming. I am thinking over-ear, passive noise reduction, wired, lightweight and comfortable. I'm not really an audiophile so I would not want to go super-expensive.

Thanks in advance,
Chuffbaby

Hi chuffbaby,

Lounge now opened for you !

The fan tweak control, I will ask HQ, because we requested the sort of thing you are trying to do through the MacroHub, as a physical button,,,, I will see if they know if you could do the way you are trying...

Thanks,

Gigabyte UK NB Team

That's great thanks.

Perhaps it could be something to look at in the next update for the macro hub software.

Is there a web-link or reference which gives information about changes when the drivers are updated? It could be a good place for owners to post about features they would like to see that the development team could consider.

Unless you would like to nominate the new owners' lounge...

I'll post this comment there too as your reply is likely to be interesting to others.
