It's the XJ220 Engine Testbed from back in t'day.

All the gubbins on the dash (McDonalds wrappers, Daily Sport et cetera) are glued down.

Justin Law was caning it up the hill at the Festival Of Speed - was in the top 10 for most of the day.

Basically, it's a pre-production XJ220 with a Transit body...apparantly most of the 'engine testing' boiled down to taunting Porsche drivers.

The roof rack, the dashboard gumf, the football thingy on the mirror, the flag, the light...perfect!

I think I have found my new work van :)

I will be able to do about twice as many jobs a day with that thing, doubling my turnover!

Maybe the fuel costs will outweigh the extra income though :(

If my memory serves me right, Steve Burns, a mad motorcycle builder from round manchester way(now teaching at Preston uni) used to have a Ford P200(?) pickup with sierra cosworth engine and running gear.
Think he had a trannie with the same mod, but this is going back some years.

That van was awesome at this years Festival of Speed..It seemed to get the biggest cheers when it flew up the hill.
I was at the start line when it went off..a huge roar from the crowd as it shot up the road, everyone was totally unprepared for how fast it was!
 
thats the most gob smacked ive been in a long time

there must be some insane test mules out there. what about that F355 with enzo running gear etc
