Update:

i got mine to 4.7 IBT stable with 1.40v.
hottest temps range from (65 on one core) 68-72 on the rest.
idles at 30-40

for anyone else with an Asus IV extreme + SB-E

Spoke to intel, there is going to be an official announcement on this with regard to swapping out C1 chips, although I could not get a timeline out of them.

What littlepuppy says I've heard a couple of times from various people ...

Be patient - This will happen sooner rather than later!

Yea nice results mate! I can't wait to build mine . Did you follow the ASUS guide? Apparently should be easy to hit 5GHz (are you running on air / contained water loop / custom loop?)

Also I will probably test 5GHz and beyond but will maintain a 4.5GHz which for me would be the sweet spot.

Well I finally got my C2 3930K Retail at good price , will be setting everything up next weekend. SR0KY but manufacture Malay on mine

Nice, I can't get anywhere near that, 4.5 is a struggle on mine, but I suspect that it is the 32Gb of RAM that is holding me back.

Hi guys, what sort of speeds are people getting on air cooling? I've decided to scrap watercooling (too much hassle) so I'll be using a an NH-D14 SE2011 in a well ventilated case.

I just need to decide between 3820 and 3930K but I think heat might be a problem with an overclocked 3930K? so I might be better off with a 3820?

You will be quite limited with how far you can push 3930 on Air. I've seen / read 3.9 / 4Ghz in a well ventilated case using a top cooler (keep in mind that all testing so far has been during winter time)

Why not grab an of the shelf solution. if you're only planning cpu cooling H100 will give you better cooling then NH-D14 at approx £20 more. If seated correctly I've see people hitting 4.5Ghz with no problem
