Does anyone know of a fix for a slightly odd problem I am having on a PC running XP.
Warcraft III, Command and Conquer Generals, Dungeon Keeper II to name but three have a sound problem. Ambient sounds, sound effects work OK but voices do not. For what its worth Media player can't play .wav files either.
Currently using headphones.
Today I have just upgraded from XP to SP2, moved from Media player 9 to 11, put in all the patches, reinstalled the card and it's drivers (being creative very old!). I've checked and rechecked all the obvious options. In fact I've been messing with this for over 15 hours now on behalf of my youngest lad.
I'm about to buy a new low end PCI audio card to replace the SB Live! to see if that works.
Any thoughts from anyone greatly appreciated.
