am i better going for a all in one nb/sb and the regulators or individual ones. i had a thought that if i go for watercooling, the chipsets will suffer due to lack of exhaust fan flow from the cpu cooler.

problem is i would need a low profile sb block, or a low profile all in one block but i think that would be impossible board is p5n-t
 
google is your friend here.

Dosen't look like there are many options for the SB block, im sure it will manage without a waterblock though
 
yer i have can only find one and its in usa shops/websites.

im just concerned that when i go w/c the sb/nb will suffer and get to hot and effect my performance
 
Not trying to be take the **** or anything at all, but IMO if you're running a P5N-T with an E2140, you'd be far better off getting a new motherboard, CPU and Ram rather than watercooling it. :p

Agree with the above though, you'll be looking around £250-£300 for a decent watercooling loop, thats and i5 setup right there!
 
maybe new prices

and ill have a Q6600 or Q9 before a rebuild this board, im happy with what i have and to be far, i properly don't even need w/cing but i would like to try it on a cheap system and see what happens from there. ok its not an i5 or i7 on a evga board or similar but
im a low end gamer and rarely play 3-4 hours a week on high end games which is why im still crap on cod 4 lol.i play lfs and that requirs nothing to run it!

any way i just wondered if there would be any affects on the temps of the chips if watercooling was put on this board.
 
Asus boards normally have top notch coolling on the nb/sb and its only on the really high end boards anyway that you need to consider watercooling them.

Save the money on watercooling and put it towards a new Cpu, Mobo or possibly Graphics, whatever needs it most really.
 
ok, i may get a really good air cooler, maybe a Arctic Freezer Xtreme r.2 or a Thermolab Baram, just looking at some ocz reaper hpc edition, 2x2gb 1066mhz, then will get a Q6600, and also looking at a gpu a ati hd card
 
Are they avalible in the uk? Searched but only found a few in the USA.

If temps arnt to mad then I'll won't bother but don't want to shorten the life of the board

not really. every asus board i've had doesn't have adequate cooling for even a modest overclock.

considering they're usually the most expensive of the bunch (with the exception of EVGA) they use terrible thermal interface gunk

i removed my heat sinks,cleaned them all off and applied artic silver ceramique to the sb and nb's plus the heat sink for the transistors. alto i left the "pad" on the heat sink above the cpu
