I hear so much about the new SB AE5, on how it has a separate amp for each driver, and the ability to driver cans on upto 60ohm

Anyone owned the ZXR and the AE5? if so how does the headphone amp performance compare the tohe AE5?

I have the ZXR and the amp on that happily drives my HD650s and my Beyers 990/Amirons 250ohm

I usually use headphones all the time but if the AE5 sounds better in the headphone department then I will get the AE5.

Any users who owned both?

Unless needing all that extra connectivity from daughter card ZxR simply doesn't have anything going for itself.
But with those headphones ZxR's output impedance isn't problem and it can definitely output enough voltage.
Highish impedance of those also helps with TPA6120 not liking low impedance loads performance wise.

If you ever intend to get lower impedance headphones then AE-5's headphone output would be better.
