SB27B550V HDMI problems.

Ok so the B550V only has HDMI ports and VGA, only got the monitor last week so been using VGA until my HDMI cable came today, so far it's been running great via VGA at 1920x1080. However now I've plugged the HDMI cable the screen has been squashed it's at full resolution 1920x1080 but the screen looks like it's at a 1660xxxxxx resolution and has black borders around it..

So i went to try the VGA back in and now it won't pick up the display so it's stuck on a standard plugnplay resolution and even in catalyst it says vga display although it's on a dvi connector as i have a radeon 6950..

Any ideas on the hdmi part to fill the screen?

Plug in the HDMI cable. Open Catalyst Control Centre. Go to 'My Digital Flat Panels' - 'Scaling Options' and move the slider to 'Overscan 0' or all the way to the right. As for the VGA cable not working afterwards it's probably just an automatic source selection issue - you can manually select the source using the dedicated source select button on the monitor.

You might notice this issue within games even though you have the underscan set to 0. Googling around I found a reg file you can run to prevent it from happening again.

How are you getting on with the monitor as i was considering getting one of these for my pc and xbox. I have a benq xl2420t which i do love but i fancy going a little bigger.

You shouldn't have problems on any application (games included) now they have fixed enforcement in Catalyst.

It's all good now, and picture is amazing! Much better than the lg 27" i had, PCM2 Thank you very much it's worked! Although I'm finding it difficult getting the speakers to work again! They did before i updated my catalyst drivers oops!
