Before I make any silly hardware purchasing mistakes, am I correct in thinking that SBS will support any number of cores as long as it is only across two physical sockets?
Assuming thats right, it shouldn't be a problem to use two quad core xeon processors?

The Microsoft site is surprisingly vague on multicore liscensing :(

Cheers

Why exactly do you need a pair of quad core processors.

If you need the processing power of 2 quad core cpu's I would seriousely question whether SBS is the right choice of OS.

SBS will support that arrangement by the way.

The final spec is more likely to be a pair of dual core ones, but I just wanted to know if it would support it if needed (for some reason) in the future.

The business this machine will be used in will not have over 75 machines/devices connected within the lifespan of the machine, and they need AD/ISA/SQL on a tight budget.

Thanks for the confirmation :)
