I read in some places if you have SBS 2003 standard and want to use SQL, you can buy SBS 2003 premium and just use the SQL disk of the set to install SQL onto your Standard setup.

We just want to use SQL on our sbs server without having to reinstall everything has anyone tried this?

Havent tried that specifically but IIRC the installation process for SBS Premium is SBS Standard then install the premium extras from another disk. Dont see why it wouldnt work

You might find there is an Issue with the Licence Key.... Your install is a SBS 2003 Stn, using a Standard Key - the Premium Technologies disk would be expecting a Prem Licence key to be found...

There is no difference between the Standard and Premium licence key, just use the Premium Technologies disk on the SBS 2003 Standard Server, I have done this several times and had no problems.
