Oh my god, deploying this is a headache.

Creating a share, removing permission inheritance and setting permissions on a single folder THREE admin elevation continue clicks...I am logged in AS an admin.

Adding a printer port, admin elevation continue click.

As subject, please shoot me. :(

Start -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy -> Local Policies -> Security Options -> User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mod

Change to Elevate without prompting :)

(Yes, I built a SBS 2008 server today as well, and very very quickly got frustrated enough to change that setting) ;)

UAC can be a pain on SBS2008. Didn't know about that setting but will bare it in mind the next time I deploy it!

It isn't so bad when it is running properly and you only have to prod it now and then to make sure it's still breathing :p

Are you sure that's not just an illusion, due to all the new bells and whistles?

I think 08 runs like a dream, especially if you have the proper hardware to back it up [and let's face it, you shouldn't be cutting corners on your server's hardware]. Even on lower-end/older gear it still runs OK.

I just deployed a £198 SBS 2008 server.

Yes, £198.

Don't look at me though. I came into work and hardware was sitting in the corridor and was tasked with building it!

The first server I dealt with that had SBS2008 sounds like it is trying to takeoff when you open a folder! It just about runs with 4 or 5 machines in the network. I am slightly scared as to how it will cope if they get any more users.

Upgrade to 8GB RAM didn't help either. Wish they would have got a new one instead of buying that bloody coffee machine!

It would be nice is SBS Monitoring wasn't such a complete disk whore.
Average disk queue length = 10

wtf indeed.
