SC Clearance Renewal

Hello community, I have submitted SC clearance renewal application and its been three months now, the status still shows 'In progress'. I have contacted NSVS help desk and they indicated there is no further input required from me and my sponsor.
Just wondering about the time its taking as I am currently working as an engineer contractor with the client. Current clearance is due to expire in Aug2024.

My question: Would client let me continue on the project if NSVS has taken longer than Aug 2024 to make a decision on my clearance ?
