As above.

Have just downloaded this and had a quick go, must say i'm extremely unimpressed.

What is the point in having a Splinter Cell game set in broad daylight?

Set in some village.

There is cover obviously, but for me it's the worst move possible to change from the old Splinter Cell games where you use darkness as your cover to this.

Most of the reviews I have seen have also said that there are few points in the game where you can use darkness as cover.

Ooh, must check this out. I started playing it on the PC in the snow level and was well peeved as it ran like a dog and looked horrendous.

There's generally plenty of dark in the game I think, but you have to be a bit more careful because it very rarely goes from one end of the room to another. Basically you have to time your 'runs' from dark to dark through the semi dark bits trying to avoid being seen. Took a while to get used to, but I think it's pretty good.. it was far too easy to get around without being seen in all the previous games.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game all the way through. I admit I never played any previous SC games, but I don't think you should be so quick to write this one off!

It really is a cracking game, and I think ( hope ;) ) a lot of people would agree!

So it's not just me who feels that way then.

The old style SC games were unique, taking SC in the direction they did made it no different from countless other games out there.

yeah but its not proper splinter cell, try one of the other games in the series and you will see what i mean
Excellent advice, try 1 2 or 3 for the true SC experience.

i think its a good game aswell, although i never played previous SC's.

i'm only on the ice level at the moment though ;)

There's plenty of dark, I can't say I've been spotted more than once or twice so far. Basically there are two versions of the same game.. XBox 1 is standard splinter cell.. all based inside in dark corridors, pretty much splinter cell 2 with nobs on.. the 360 version tries to be a bit different and really does a good job in my not very humble opinion.. it's a bit hard to see which bits are "green" cover and which are "orange" cover at times but it makes for a much better game diving from place to place rather than just walking slowly through endless shadows.

I gave it a cursory 60-second play and wasn't amused at not being able to sneak around as much and having no ammo in my weapons.

I thought Splinter Cell DA was a brilliant game, really need to use stealth tactics to get through the missions.

The only outdoor mission is the kinshasha one where you have to rescue Hisham...other than that most if not all the game is set inside using darkness as cover etc.

Hmmm not a bad demo but coming from the likes of RB6:Vegas the control system was very hard to understand ( I kept hitting the wrong button to hug the wall).

Also apart from the objective that kept popping up I didn't really know what to do.

woah. The game is superb. The light levels are actually a well paced break from the stealthy dark places.( much needed after hours of caustiously moving around) Great game. Atmosphere and graphics are awesome!! Highly recommended. Only GOW has impressed me more on 360 so far.
