I was diagnosed with scabies on Friday and applied the treatment that night, so should no longer be infected or contagious, although I do have to repeat the treatment in a weeks time to make sure.
I've had the symptoms for 6 weeks, and I first went to the doctors on the 20th of August and was told it was nothing and to apply some steroid cream and antihistamine tablets for the itching (£10 in perscription charges for the cream and tabs.)
I then went back 2 weeks ago, was told the same thing again. The finally saw another doctor as I was at this point convinced they were misdiagnosing me, and was given the news I was dreading. (extra £21.60 in prescription charges)
I let my family know, and then proceeded to let work know as I work in a Post Office and shop in contact with the public. I felt this was my duty. Anyway, the general manager said it was no problem and seeing as I'd had the initial treatment I was fine to head back into work this morning after the weekend.
Then this morning I get sent home and I'm not allowed back until I have a note from the doctor confirming I am good to go to work and not cantagious, and in the meantime EVERYONE at work has been told to go to their doctor to get the treatment also. FFS! I'm the least likely out of all of them there right now to have it considering I've had the first lot of treatment.
I need the money and now get the feeling they'll have replaced all my shifts for the rest of the week with someone else, and with me being on a **** contract with hardly any hours on it I feel they've used this as an excuse to take me off all the extra ones I've been doing. I don't know why I've felt the need to share this with you all, just needed to get it off my chest. I feel crap about it all, even though none of it is my fault
