Random topic I must say, but was at some friends earlier this evening and they had got the scalextric out of the the attic. Put it together and when the 15v power supply was plugged in, the red light on the power base didn't light up and nothing worked.

New power base/mains adaptor needed or can it be rectified?

I apologise for not understanding what TTIUWP means :(

I can't get into the plug as it's sealed by 4 'screws' that are just completely flat, no slots for a screwdriver etc.

Am going to go down to the local model shop in the village tomorrow with the power base and the plug to get them both tested.

With regards to the picture, I'm afraid I only have one of everything packed up in my room as I said I'd 'test' it :p

Managed to get myself a new ac adaptor, but only one of the tracks is receiving power. Seems that there is a connection issue with the power base to the other track.

May try getting a cheapo one off the bay.

The ac adaptor is giving out power - the positive and negative terminals produce power fine and the guy in the shop tested it before I bought it....

I liked the piece of track on the Jaguar challenge where the track goes very narrow and only one car normally stays on the track after they collide. Always remember that, brings back some great nostalgia that. :D

Don't think mine had that - sure you have the right one?!

100% Just dug it out. It's a small piece of track with yellow lines on just one piece you can add sort of a narrow chicane. Maybe I bought it as an extra piece or something

Yeh I think you must've as it doesn't have it labelled on the box!

I remember buying two extra chicanes - a skid chicane and a short chicane. The skid one is awesome - always sends cars flying :D
