Anyone in to scalextric?

We race in windsor on the first thursday of each month. So if anyones local give me a shout.

The track is pretty big! And its the digital track so you can change lanes at certain points.

We also have it connected to a laptop and projector which shows race position, lap times etc.

We also have fuel management. So depending how much throttle you use, you burn fuel at different rates. You have to put, hold a button on the controller to fill up your tank. You can do partial fills too, so if you've only got 2 laps left, you can just put a bit of fuel in to get around.

Thats pretty wicked. I went to a scalextric place I think it was in Woodley (like 6years ago) great fun :D

Though the car's always went off the track =/ had the same problem with the one i had from toys r us when i was 6 :P

Yeah the cars can come off quite easily. Depends on the car though, they really do handle differently.

We have previously been racing with 4-6 racers and 2-4 marshalls who put the cars back on. However we tried crash and burn last week so if you come off the track you are out of the race. Worked quite well actually, people had to be careful and not just floor the throttle.

Looks pretty good. Must have changed a right bit since I was a kid as it used to be one car per lane, whereas you say you can now change lanes and I also notice some single lane, very nice.

Awesome - Used to love scalextric when I was younger!
Didn't realise they could do lane swapping and such now, must be interesting having single lanes!

Very nice, but it needs banked corners and more levels. It also needs the 'hump back bridge' that was in one of my old tracks. Bonus points for getting the car airborne off the bridge and then slotting straight back into the track

Your track looks in better nick than mine.
Clack, clack, bang, SMACK
Cue the track repair with a two pence piece and you were off again!
