I sell stuff on gumtree all the time. Ever now and then I get an email from someone in Africa wanting the product. For example... Let's say I am selling a television for $600. The scammer writes me and says that he wants the television, but shipping to his country is very expensive.. So he offers to send a certified check for $1600. $600 for the television, and $1000 for you to western union to his shipper. Well, you cash the check. Send the $1000 to the shipper, then you find out the check was bad and you are out $1000 because there is no shipper... just a scammer.

Here is what I like to do. I agree with everything they say. 99 times out of 100 they will offer to send the fake check via fedex over night.... to another country. That has to be expensive. Once I get the delivery, I tell them that they are low life scum bags.. Then I ask if the overnight fee was expensive. Then the $1,000,000 question. How does it feel being beat at your own game. I just scammed you! Scammer! LOL:D

There was a great scam scam, where someone was about to get scammed out of a laptop but found out and posted on a forum and they caught him out. Was a brilliant read, can't find it but sure someone here will know what im talking about ;)

It was genius, wish I could find it.

3) Finally, and most disturbingly, Jeff was not heard from again. I personally e-mailed him for permission to run his story on ZUG, but after an initial response, I never heard from him again. All of his Web sites have come down, and he is nowhere to be found.

Jeff, wherever you are, this P-P-P-Powerbook's for you.

Scam baiting! You should drag it out more and waste more of their time and have a laugh.

I've been keeping a log of my current one: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17772740
