scan a folder for File Type/File Details viewer ?

Hi

anyone know of a program that can scan a folder on a hard drive and report the file type and file details as a list ?

I have a folder with various image files in and I need to scan it and get the details of the file type and what sort of compression it uses. eg whether a TIFF file uses LZW compression or CCITT T.6 etc.

any ideas ?
