Can someone please help me?

I’ve not used my scanner (Agfa ScanWise one touch) for a couple of years….. I’ve just tried to scan a photo and I get the following error message:

“ScanWise has detected that your monitor/screen is not configured to display sufficient colors. Use the Control Panel to switch the display to at least 65,535 colours before re-launching ScanWise (also termed “High Color 16bit” or “Thousands”

My monitor is a Samsung syncMaster 2343 and default settings is 32 bit colour. When I change the settings to 16 bit, it still won’t work. I’ve also tried selecting different screen sizes from current default 2048 x 1152 to many others but each time I change it I still get the same error message .

Scan Wise used to work with my old DELL CRT Monitor, I know it’s an old scanner but I used to like the way it worked.

As far as I know Agfa have stopped making scanners, so I must have the latest driver!

Any advise, would be gratefully accepted. Thanx

Thanx to all those who viewed this thread with the intention of trying to help me.

I managed to sort the problem out using the compatability wizard (which I wasn't aware existed).

Hopefully it will contine to work from now on.

I know you've got it sorted now, but if you find the driver software is rubbish, give VueScan a go.. Works with pretty much every scanner ever made, awesome bit of software :)
