Scanner unsupported..

Hey,

I've got a very old Visioneer 4800 here that I want to use to scan one item in... but it doesn't work. (XP SP2)

I downoaded the drivers from the visioneer website.. installed.. plugged in.. fine. It appears in My Computer but if I try to scan from it it says something like:

"..cannot detect the scanner or camera" and err something about TWAIN drivers if I try in infranview.

Any ideas?

Its not supposed to be supported by SP2 (XP) but I was wondering if there's any way of getting it to work.. I only want to scan one thing in :confused:

I did a quick Google and someone said they downloaded a 4800 from another source (i.e. not Visioneer) and it worked OK. Perhaps it was here:

If that doesn't work, than try an application called VueScan.

Works with pretty much every scanner ever made, ever going to be made, and ever dreamt of

Nice.

I had a Tiny scanner that wouldn't work and I found out that it was a rebranded scanner of a different make, and the drivers for that model worked.
