Just a quickie, I've laid my hands on my granddads old photos taken during the war and afterwards, and frankly they're looking a bit jaded. I think my aunt has left them in direct sunlight or in something that doesn't protect from UV at least.

Anyway, I want to get these scanned now. What would a decent scanner be these days? I used to have a cannon scan thing that was fine for this sort of thing. I don't want to spend a fortune as I've got to set up a website next week, so that's going to cost me.

Oh and a woman in work has been left a load of Canon and Nikon lenses (and oddly two Pentax cameras, but no Nikon or Canon cameras) by her uncle who was a bird watcher so I may be skint for a long time if I can wangle getting those off her :D

Oh yeah, have a nose at my graddad in Egypt. Fez's are cool:

Well so far, they all seem pretty much of a muchness for what I want. I may get the Canoscan LiDE 700F unless I find reasons not to.

After looking around all day and taking into account the fact I'll rarely use it, I opted for the one I linked above. Annoyingly the amazon app went weird and ordered 2 of the damn things!

I also got Elements 11 for £32. Bargain :)
