Bought a pair of Scarpa hiking boots last year, thinking that £90 would buy me a "proper" pair of leather footwear as opposed to the Hi-Tec/Karrimor pseudo boots. Really comfortable and settled in but noticed yesterday the Vibram sole on both heels is worn down to the secondary sole underneath. Was wondering if anyone has managed to get these or similar repaired at a cobblers, or is the whole thing a complete unit that cannot be repaired?

Some of the older Hi Tec boots was good had a couple of hiking boots had for years even been in the sea and lasted! try that with many now by time done 50 yards soles are already popping off bottoms on many brands.
plus it's odd some one will come away other stays ok pair of Dewalt rigger boots one sole came adrift other is ok
Even Merrel isn't as good as was as most is crapped in China

I've been looking on line and there are a few places that will do it for around £60. However at the moment think I will just get a couple of those metal heel protectors and bang them in, should give a few more months of wear then I will go back to the £45 HiTec or Karrimor ones. (Actaully Karrimor used to be really good, then Sports Direct took them over...)
