Scart to HDMI Converter

Could i plug my gamecube scart into this and then plug my hdmi in the other end, then obviously using a hd monitor.

you probably can but you will need some sort of electronic converter not just a lead.

Looks like a £50 box job, rather than a £4 cable.

The trouble is you're looking at converting an analogue signal into a digital one, and that is going to require some fairly serious active electronics.
